What makes Loon & Stone diffusers different?

Every Loon & Stone diffuser is handcrafted from solid American hardwood and built around our patent-pending ScentCore™ technology — a natural, low-maintenance scent system that delivers steady, long-lasting fragrance with no heat, no cords, and no complication.


What type of wood are your diffusers made from?

We use maple sourced from Kentucky, Michigan, and other regions of the United States. Each piece is hand-finished, so natural variations and small imperfections are expected — and celebrated. No two diffusers are exactly alike.


How long does the scent last?

A single fill or refill lasts about 3–4 weeks, depending on room size and airflow.


What comes in the box?

Every diffuser arrives with:

  • The handcrafted diffuser (cube or cylinder)
  • Removable Scentcore™ insert
  • Essential oil kit

Do I need electricity or water like other diffusers?

No. No heat, no water, no plugging in.
This is a passive, natural diffusion system — quiet, clean, minimalist.


What if the insert gets too dark or looks used?

That’s normal. The insert darkens as it absorbs natural oils.
It should not be washed or reused. Your monthly refill includes a fresh insert.


Can I use my own essential oils?

You can, but we don’t recommend it.
Our Scentcore™ system is designed around a precise balance of:

  • Oil weight
  • Viscosity
  • Absorption rate
  • Evaporation curve

Using other oils could reduce performance.


What is the subscription and how does it work?

Our monthly refill subscription includes:

  • Fresh insert(s) – depending on the size of your diffuser
  • Your choice of essential oil blend for refill
  • Free shipping

Subscriptions are monthly only, renew automatically, and can be canceled anytime from your account.


Can I pause, skip, or change my blend?

Yes. You can:

  • Pause
  • Skip a month
  • Change scents
  • Switch subscription products

Everything is managed through your Loon & Stone account.


Do you ship internationally?

Not yet.
We currently ship within the United States only, but international shipping will be added in the future.


How long will it take for my order to ship?

All orders (standard or express) ship in 1–3 business days, hand-packed from our workshop.
Express shipping upgrades affect transit time only, not processing time.


Will the oils stain my furniture?

The diffuser is designed to contain oil inside the internal cavity.
As long as it is kept upright, it should not leak.
We do recommend placing it on a stable, flat surface.


Can I buy wholesale for my retail store?

Yes. We offer wholesale pricing and packaging for approved retailers.
Wholesale partners pay actual UPS/FedEx shipping rates.

How do I clean or maintain the diffuser?

The exterior requires no special maintenance beyond gentle dusting. The insert does not require any maintenance – so, the entire unit is maintenance free.


Are the essential oils safe around kids and pets?

Our oils are 100% pure, plant-based essential oil blends. However, pets and children can have sensitivities to strong scents. We recommend placing the diffuser out of reach and ensuring the room has normal airflow. Always consult your veterinarian for specific pet concerns.


Will the diffuser make my room smell as strong as a candle?

It may depending on airflow in the room. The design of the ScentCoreTM is that it can be strong in certain environments but also can be controlled by closing the lid, much like a candle. Loon & Stone diffusers are designed for clean, steady, natural fragrance, not overpowering scent throw. If you want the strongest performance, choose the Triple or place multiple units throughout the home.


How big of a room does each diffuser work in?

Approximate guidance:

  • Single: 100–250 sq ft
  • Double: 200–500 sq ft
  • Triple: 400–900 sq ft
  • Cylinder: 100–250 sq ft

Room airflow, ceiling height, and placement affect performance.


Do you offer gift wrapping or gift notes?

Not at this time, but all products ship in premium recyclable packaging that is gift-ready.
You may include a gift note at checkout (coming soon).


Can I purchase extra inserts without joining the subscription?

You can purchase refill kits as one-time through our website.


Are your diffusers handmade?

Yes — each diffuser is precision machined, finished, and assembled by hand. Variations in color and grain are normal and part of the craft.


Will the wood change color over time?

Yes, slightly. Maple develops a warm, natural patina when exposed to light. This is normal and makes each piece more unique over time.


Do the diffusers need to stay upright?

Yes.
Never store or transport the diffuser on its side once oil is added.
The internal cavity is designed for upright placement only.
