What makes Loon & Stone diffusers different?

Each Loon & Stone diffuser is handcrafted from solid American hardwood and built around our patent-pending ScentCore™ design. It’s a natural, low-maintenance way to enjoy scent – steady and long-lasting, without heat, cords, or extra steps. Learn what sets our diffusers apart here


What type of wood are your diffusers made from?

We use maple sourced from the United States. Each piece is hand-finished, so natural variations in grain and tone are expected – and part of what makes each diffuser unique.


How long does the scent last?

Scent typically lasts about a month, depending on room size, airflow, and placement.


What comes in the box?

Each diffuser arrives with:

  • The handcrafted diffuser (cube or cylinder)
  • A removable ScentCore™ insert
  • An essential oil kit

Do I need electricity or water like other diffusers?

  • No. Our diffusers use no heat, flame, water, or electricity. They’re a passive, natural diffusion system – quiet, clean, and simple to live with.

Can I use my own essential oils?

Yes. Our diffusers are designed for pure essential oils.

Performance will vary depending on the composition and viscosity of the oil used. Lighter oils typically diffuse more quickly, while heavier oils may diffuse more slowly.

For best results:

  • Use pure essential oils
  • Avoid carrier oils (they can reduce diffusion efficiency)
  • Avoid very heavy blends (they can diffuse more slowly)

If you choose to use non-essential-oil blends, performance may vary.


What is the subscription and how does it work?

Subscriptions are optional and fully in your control.

Our refill subscription includes:

  • Fresh insert(s), based on your diffuser size
  • Your choice of essential oil blend
  • Free shipping

Subscriptions are monthly, renew automatically, and can be canceled anytime through your account.


Can I pause, skip, or change my blend?

Yes. You can pause your subscription, skip a month, change scents, or switch products at any time – all from your Loon & Stone account.


Do you ship internationally?

Not at the moment. We currently ship within the United States only.


How long will it take for my order to ship?

All orders ship within 1–3 business days, hand-packed from our workshop.

Express shipping affects transit time only and does not change processing time.


Will the oils stain my furniture?

The diffuser is designed to keep oil contained inside its internal cavity. As long as it’s kept upright, it will not leak. We recommend placing it on a stable, flat surface.


Can I buy wholesale for my retail store?

Yes. We offer wholesale pricing and packaging for approved retailers.

How do I clean or maintain the diffuser?

The exterior needs only occasional dusting. The insert itself requires no maintenance. When you’re ready to refresh your scent, gently cleaning the cavity with the provided cotton swab is helpful.

Our diffusers are designed to be lived with – without daily upkeep.


Are the essential oils safe around kids and pets?

Our blends are made from 100% pure, plant-based essential oils. That said, children and pets can be sensitive to scent. We recommend placing the diffuser out of reach and ensuring normal airflow in the room. For specific concerns, consult your doctor or veterinarian.


Will the diffuser make my room smell as strong as a candle?

It can, depending on room size and airflow. The ScentCore™ design lets you control intensity by closing the lid, similar to extinguishing a candle.

Loon & Stone diffusers are designed for steady, natural fragrance rather than a sudden burst. For larger spaces or stronger coverage, the Triple or multiple units work best.


How big of a room does each diffuser work in?

As a general guide:

  • Single: 100–250 sq ft
  • Cylinder: 100–250 sq ft
  • Double: 200–500 sq ft
  • Triple: 400–900 sq ft

Room layout, ceiling height, airflow, and placement will affect performance.


Do you offer gift wrapping or gift notes?

Not at this time. All products ship in premium, recyclable packaging that’s gift-ready.

Gift notes will be available soon.


Can I purchase extra inserts without joining the subscription?

Yes. Refill kits are available as one-time purchases through our website.


Are your diffusers handmade?

Yes. Each diffuser is precision-machined, finished, and assembled by hand. Variations in color and grain are natural and part of the craft.


Pricing philosophy

Our pricing reflects the materials we choose, the way each piece is made, and the attention that goes into the work.

As we grow, we look for efficiencies that let us keep doing things the same way, without cutting corners or sacrificing quality. 

We price our products with long-term use in mind.


What is your satisfaction promise

We want you to love living with Loon & Stone. If your diffuser isn’t right for your space, you can request a return within 30 days of delivery.

What’s eligible

Diffusers purchased directly from our website are eligible for return within 30 days of delivery.

Scent exchanges

Not loving your scent? We get it - fragrance is personal. Contact us within 30 days and we'll exchange it for a different scent or offer store credit so you can find your perfect match. (Exchanges and store credit only - opened scents cannot be refunded for safety reasons.)

What's not eligible for refund

Due to the nature of essential oils, opened essential oils and refills cannot be returned for a refund. However, we're happy to help you find a scent you'll love through an exchange or store credit. If something arrives damaged or incorrect, we'll make it right.

Condition

Returned diffusers must be in good condition after normal at-home use. Original packaging is appreciated when possible.

Easy returns – no guesswork

If it's not the right fit, we'll send you a prepaid return label and handle the rest.

Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected, your refund will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow 3–5 business days for processing. Expedited shipping fees are non-refundable unless the issue was caused by us (damage, defect, wrong item).
